Succession Survey

In the 2004 PCPS Succession Planning Survey, over 400 firms were interviewed about their succession plans. The results showed that while over 60 percent of all firms surveyed have owners aged 6365, only 25 percent had a written succession plan in place.

PCPS conducted a follow-up 2008 Succession Survey to gauge any changes. The results confirmed that it is critical that practitioners begin succession planning now in order to secure their firm’s future.

The 2008 PCPS Succession Survey

This publication reports on the results of the 2008 Succession Survey in order to provide information to practitioners as to how firms are handling the issue of succession planning and provides conclusions and recommendations based on the survey results.  This report can be used as a tool for practitioners to evaluate their succession planning efforts against those of their peers and the growing need for succession planning to be a regular and ongoing practice within their firm.
