Succession Planning

PCPS is devoted to providing resources that will help CPA firms address their most pressing practice management issues. Given the importance of and interest in Succession Planning, PCPS is dedicated to providing the profession with valuable tools and resources on this very important topic.

In the 2004 PCPS Succession Planning Survey, over 400 firms were interviewed about their succession plans. The results showed that while over 60 percent of all firms surveyed have owners aged 6365, only 25 percent had a written succession plan in place.

PCPS conducted a follow-up 2008 Succession Survey to gauge any changes. The results confirmed that it is critical that practitioners begin succession planning now in order to secure their firm’s future.
