2006 Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of frequently asked questions.

Q1

When will the next survey be fielded?

A1

The next survey will be in 2008 since the survey has been on a bi-annual cycle since 2004. Firms will be invited to take the survey in the spring/summer of 2008.

Q2

My firm participated in the 2006 survey, how do I obtain our results?

A2

Participant reports for PCPS and Texas firms were emailed in October 2006 to the respondent’s email address. All other participants should have received an email in October 2006 detailing how they can purchase their report or join PCPS and get their report at no cost. Please contact the PCPS team by email at PCPS@aicpa.org if you do not have your report.

Q3

If we did not participate in the last survey, how do I access the results of the 2006 survey?

A3

As a PCPS member, you can login and access the National, Regional and Firm Size results as a member benefit on this site. 2006 results are no longer available for purchase.  Non-PCPS members can visit the PCPS Web site in late September 2008 for information about obtaining 2008 results.

Q4

My state society participated in the 2006 survey, what does that mean to me?

A4

The participating state societies provide us with a means to achieve nationwide participation. Every participating state society has received a customized state or regional report depending upon the number of respondents from their state. All states with 40 or more respondents received a state specific report, while states with less than 40 respondents received a regional and sub-regional report. The participating states are encouraged to share this report with their members. You can contact your state society to learn more about your state’s report.

Q5

What is the on-line benchmarking tool?

A5

The on-line tool is an additional benefit to survey participants that allows them to create their own benchmarks and peer groups. You can use the tool to compare your firm’s data to other firms’ data based on the parameters you select. If you have questions about the on-line tool or need help accessing it, you can contact us by email at PCPS@aicpa.org.

Q6

How are survey questions selected for future surveys?

A6

Survey content is examined each year before the survey goes live. Feedback is received from the previous year's respondent firms and industry leaders. Usability, application and scope are closely considered by the AICPA Market Research team. The goal is to enable firms to have access to the type and level of data on their practices that is most meaningful and to provide a user experience that is as friendly and efficient as possible. If you have comments or suggestions, feel free to contact us at PCPS@aicpa.org.
