Web Forums, Communications, & Networking Groups
Some of our major membership benefits include Web Forums featuring the profession’s top speakers who present on the most pressing issues that CPA firms face today. Also, PCPS firms enjoy member-exclusive communications such as monthly e-newsletters, quarterly seasonality/workload compression newsletters, and subscriptions to the CPA Technology Advisor magazine and The Practicing CPA newsletter. Networking groups, segmented by firm size, are another popular member benefit.
Practice Management Resources
We offer Firm Practice Management support in the form of Web site resources, namely resource centers, the PCPS/TSCPA National MAP Survey and white papers. In 2007, we introduced our Staffing resource matrix or Human Capital Center. In 2008, we plan to roll out a resource center dedicated to Succession Planning. Visit the Resources page for more information and examples.
Firm Advocacy & Updates on Standards
In our advocacy role, PCPS keeps practitioners in the loop regarding technical issues that affect the profession, especially the small to medium-sized firms. We also afford our members tools to deal with new standards (e.g. SAS No. 112 information and letters) in the Keeping Up With Standards section of our Web site. PCPS acts as the voice of the local and regional firm by representing small firm interests with groups such as TIC, Technical Issues Committee, who meets with the FASB and GASB annually.
In addition to all of the services we offer, we provide PCPS firms with up to 20 percent off selected MAP products and conferences. (See the Member Discounts page.)
